The state-of-the-art library facility is located on Old Main Hill. It houses an extensive information commons and cafe, as well as something truy amazing. One of the most important functions for this new library is its ability to store books in the ASRS (Automatic Storage and Retrieval System) area. The ASRS is supported on a mat foundation due to the heavy loads and large seismic overturning forces. This system makes it possible for the library to store more than 1.4 million books and journals.
